Emily 7 Months

Emily is almost 7 months old now and is on the move! She can now roll all the way across the living room, sit up, and play peek-a-boo like a champ. This past month was a busy one - Emily and I started swim "class", we went to a baby shower for Auntie Teresa and a birthday fiesta for Daddy, Pop and Cousin Tommy, and ate lots of new food. Much fun was had by all!

Emily 6 Months

Emily is 6 months old and weighing in at about 13 pounds. This past month she went to her first baby shower for John's cousin Sara and her soon-to-arrive son where she met lots of family for the first time. John and I also took advantage of one warm day and took Emily on a snowy walk.

Emily 4 1/2 Months

Emily has been very busy since the holidays. She met her Uncle Sam, Aunt Mary and cousin Terri, had a sleepover with her cousin Caroline, discovered her feet, and got some fun new toys. She's rolling over onto her sides and has finally decided that Mommy is funny and has started laughing.

At her four month doctor visit she weighed in at 11 lbs 7 ozs and 23 1/2 inches.

Before actual Thanksgiving, Reza and Teresa hosted a trial run and invited all of us Russells. We also celebrated our nephew's first birthday, although his older brother seemed to have more fun opening the presents than Conner did. Happy Birthday Conner!

Lots of Firsts in the First Two Weeks

First bath, first walk, first time in a "billy bed" . . . . Check out Emily's first two weeks home from the hospital. She's so cute!

Here we are preparing Emily for the big trip home. We are lucky that the hospital let us go since Emily's head is clearly not nearly big enough for her hat. We promised we'd keep an eye on that.

It's a GIRL!!!

I'm trying to come up with something clever to say but more elegant words escape me.

The wonderful and amazing Emily Jane Russell was born on September 10th at 2:40pm tipping the scales at 6 lbs 5 oz.

Here are some pictures of Emily and some of our family carefully selected to show how beautiful my wife is even after giving birth. Click on the picture to see lots of other pictures.



Mother and baby are both doing very well. Father survived the ordeal with minimal bruising although he smells like a yak since he's wearing the same socks he was wearing 36 hours ago.
